Hello! My name is Alyssa Brady and welcome to my e-portfolio! This website is a place for me to express myself and share my writing with the world for future employers, aspiring writers, or anyone looking for a little creative inspiration.
The main goal for this e-portfolio is to get the attention of future employers, make a good impression, show them my talents and hopefully get a job after I graduate from UCF in December 2016. In this eportfolio I showcase that I am talented and capable in writing for different publication, and I can write different genres. The goal is for my future employers to see that my past experience has well-prepared me for my future career in journalism.
I am a Knight at the University of Central Florida, a journalism major and writing and rhetoric minor. I created this e-portfolio to share my writings with you all, and hopefully one day, the world. Being a journalism major, I have a strong curiosity for knowing what is going on in the world around me and to share it with my community. Minoring in writing and rhetoric, I have learned how to use rhetoric to reach my audience in the most beneficial way as possible. I am currently a senior at UCF and have gained significant knowledge on how to become a better writer, but I know there is still plenty of room to grow. On my current journey, I expect to learn many more strategies on how to become the best possible writer I can.
In my e-portfolio, you will find past papers that I have worked on. A few of my papers are about a civic issue I covered in my Rhetoric and Civic Engagement class. That class has given me a full understanding of what the word rhetoric means and how to use rhetoric to enhance my writings.
Other papers featured in this e-portfolio are articles I have written either freelancing, or assignments from my journalism classes. What I love most about reporting, is being able to hear and share the stories of other people. After being accepted and completing my first semester in the journalism program at the University of Central Florida, I believe my writing has improved in every way possible. I am excited for my senior year in the journalism program at UCF because I know it will take me great places and teach me how to be the best possible journalist that I can.
Not only do I enjoy writing, but I enjoy anything that has to do with multimedia. I am a fast learner and work well with cameras, website design, social media and video editing. I know I am a strong writer, but I feel my true talent surfaces whenever I am working with multimedia.
Continuing onto my e-portfolio, you will stumble upon my Writerly Identity page. In this page, I will discuss the passion that I have had for writing since I was a little girl, my past experiences and qualities.
I hope you enjoy my e-portfolio!
